What is a delivery note?

A delivery note (also called a delivery challan or packing slip) is a document that accompanies a shipment of goods and lists what is being delivered. The recipient checks the goods against it and signs to confirm receipt. It is proof that goods left your premises and reached the customer, and it is the bridge between a sales order and the invoice that follows.
